trip to stafford & whine about home schoolin'

E came over at 9am to watch my girls while DH, the boys & I went to my mum & dad's.
We had a lovely chat and a great laugh & mum ran through the details of her surgery, which is on tuesday 21st Aug.  Then Grandad R took the boys to McD and the park while DH, me & mum went to the Soup Kitchen for lunch.
Mum told me her inspiring experiences in the hospital with a female prisoner being treated there, they have met twice and mum has shared the Love & the gospel with her! Yay!
We brought back some bedside tables I got in dad's warehouse ages ago & left at their house.
When we got back E had helped the girls tidy their rooms and had done the whole kitchen! Many thanks Lord for my helpful friends!!
Then I made dinner for my friend who had a baby last week.
So hot!

I was whining at my mum about the whole home ed deal! It sometimes feels like I've bitten off a whole lot more than I can chew! And really, what is my priority? Bringing the kids up in a positive, encouraging environment so they can confidently fulfill their place in this world, or getting some GCSE's - those can seem mutually exclusive at times!
OH YES I need to trust in the LORD - he can make both happen at once!
I really want to order a big chunk o' Sonlight curriculum - all planning & book choosing is done for you. Planning. I am pathologically unable to make plans & then carry them out!

Any way I am feelin the burn. Probably cos it's August & I have 4 kids in 2 different lifestyles, that we are trying to mix at the moment. I hate to say it but I'm looking forward to back-to-school!

I need to blankify the room a little, take away some distractions when we get back to home schooling. There is a big TV and LOADS of Wii games & PS3 games shouting "Play us! Play us!"
I am going to take a long, hard look at Flylady.net & get some routines up & running for my aspie students.
God love 'em!
Quite literally!
