Sunday - after a very applicable sermon about looking different in this world, from Daniel, We went to my mum-in-law's for their 30th wedding anniversary. There was a lot of alcohol involved, and a lot of people in a very small space! But Thankfully it went without incident. We came home early to pick up a little girl O we are having over 2 nights. (her mum E was having a small operation) She got her face painted by my 2 girls and then she went to sleep with Lola. I took her to kid's club early Monday morning, when I arrived my other friend's bigger girl L had arrived for the day (her mum busy hoping her newborn son will come home from hosp today!)
L watched tv & baked some fairy cakes with Lola. I made st clements muffins from Mary Berry's 100 Cakes and Bakes. They turned out horrible! But, can you guess, yes we still ate them. We watched a couple of episodes of Extreme Makeover Home Edition - I just love the before & after pictures!
DH arrived home with E from the hospital and I had made chicken Rogan Josh from a jar, it was actually quite nice with a bit of creme fraiche in.
so Dinner for 9 - it didn't quite stretch that far, someone had to have a huge bowl of cereal and a teenager was making a portion of chips as I went to bed!
My mate PW came over for half an hour after tea with her baby, stayed to chat with E and myself.
Angie came to collect L at about 8.30pm with new baby Josiah in the car, he was adorably cute & tiny, with a lovely tan (jaundice) & a shock of black hair. What a doll! I will have to knit him something tiny tomorrow.
Quite a full day! I suddenly had to fall into bed by 9.30pm
This morning I will take O to kids club and then look after E.
While I was collecting O yesterday I saw little James, the chap I asked you to pray for, from next door. He looks fine (They aren't next door at the mo - it's a bit complicated)
I am very happy about looking after E & O here for a couple of days - it's more of what I have always wanted to do as part of our christian life - You have to get a balance with caring for Dear Husband's wants & needs too. (they don't usually include people being here!)
So I'm thankful to God for this opportunity to show His love in a practical way.
