DLA and benefits, and a salesman...

Do you know, I get DLA (disability living allowance) for Freddy.
I ummed & ahhhed about this at first, i have an in-built resistance to government benefits. I have never applied for jobseekers allowance or anything like that.
But I did give up a full-time job so I could look after Freddy properly and so I was thrilled that he qualifies for DLA. In case you don't know, he qualifies as disabled! His aspergers, that is.

I was also told at the time, to apply for carer's allowance. But I resisted, possibly foolishly.
Well, I am applying now...
Since I found out how much it's gonna cost me for Ruby to do her GCSEs! Which, remember, we are already paying for her to do thru taxes...
So. controversial. Obviously I've been praying about it, and I have decided to go ahead and apply.

Phew! We just had some kind of pressure salesman in here from Solarlec (solar panels). the appt was for 3pm... he was still here at 4.30! I was basically telling him to go away as we need to eat tea!
the upshot is...their cheapest deal is 8000 quid, and they recon we would make about 800 pound a year in revenue/saved on leccy bill.
if i had the £8k i'd probably do it.

Such fun!

And, thanks for my birthday presents! I am using the vouchers to get a heated airer from Lakeland.
