Then we had a tight schedule so each kid could choose one shop to visit, Jojo & Fred chose the Lego shop & Ruby, Pulp. We got some christmas presents there, and my choice was the wool dept of John Lewis, i needed some brown 4-ply. "needed?", well, wanted. You know.
Then we got on the 82 to the cathedral. Sat down among the gathering throng. I didn't see as much publicity for Merseyside Unites as I expected, but there was a huge crowd. we were about 40 mins early cos I hate being stuck in crowds. So we found seats. I looked around, and everyone has a programme in their hands. It was a programme for a sixth form prize-giving afternoon! We were in the wrong cathedral!
We zoomed round to the Metropolitan Cathedral in time for the event we had actually been invited to!
It was a mix of live music, kids, speeches & a few famous faces.
All the way through, my boy "Can you guess which one", kept going, "how much longer is there?" and many worse phrases, so we only lasted an hour. Then into the cathedral cafe (very good quality food i must recommend!) and we shared a hot choc (you do when they're £2.45 each) and a cake, before making our way to Abakhan's for a look at the knitting & fabric goodies, and into Lidl for some groceries. Which we ate while watching Arthur Christmas. A lovely, full day!
Today was church's Christmas Fayre (cue groans). I moan about these things beforehand, but usually really enjoy them. Same today. I was on the cake stall, but my Lola did such a great job, i left her to it. The fun of these things is in the chaos. I enjoy smiling in a chaotic room sometimes. I bought some christmas cards from the Blythswood Stall & entered a rubbish tombola. ! It was fun, I think I enjoy the clearing up afterwards just as much, having a banter with fellow workers etc.
Apart from these two days I am taking it easy & I had forgotten how fun knitting is! I hardly got any time Sitting Down in the last few months, but I have done the last couple of weeks, and I have complete 2 pairs socks for christmas gifts, and I have started a scarf for Ruby.
