A Palestinian's life story

Last evening we went by train to Moreton, to go to a church & hear a Palestinian woman's testimony. We were invited by a fellow homeEdder who attends that church.
We had to all go, (I originally planned to just take the girls in case any of it wasn't suitable for little uns.) so I bought a picnic & a magazine each ($$$) and once they'd got in from school and changed into warm clothing, we went on the train. It took only 45 minutes to get there, they all quietly read their mags so I got a little knitting done. The train from town to Moreton was packed. We ate some of our picnic.
We arrived at 5.15pm, it was already dark, and we were near the beach, so we went down. There were no lights, but we had 3 phones with torches. It looked something like this:
Then we walked up to the church, we were over an hour early and it was rather cold, so we had a little look at the town, prayed for somewhere warm to sit...and! The Lord provided, just across the road, a library open til 7.30pm! It was comfy with cushions & a little tipi, so we all gladly sat around in the warm, reading.
at 7.30 we went over to the church, sat down. There was an intro, 2 worship songs & then two people spoke to us. An english man whose work takes him to Palestine, and a young Palestinian woman, who he met there. She told us her life story. I can't put it all here but here's a link to the organisation.
She also told us about ordinary Palestinian life, their culture, still very bedouin in its values, which was very interesting and enlightening. Also they spoke of the Palestinian uprising against their own leaders which happened this year (didn't make our news at all) as the young generation of Palestinians are becoming aware that many of their problems are due to culture and corruption from within, not Israel.
It was a super evening, gave me perspective & plenty to pray about.  If you get offered a chance to hear this woman speak, please do!
