Ravings of a mad knitter

I am knitting CRAZY right now. I mean CRAZY. I have quite a few projects on the go, and I wake in the middle of the night, fingers itching to start a new project. Yes, start a new one. Not "continue with something I was already making"! I am trying to be restrained about this, but current WIP's (works in progress) include:
a blue bear toy
a brown mouse toy
a big sparkly unicorn for Lola
various socks
brown throw for front room
green leaf cushion cover

Finished recently -Hey Let's Celebrate the odd Completion!
"Gold" socks for F
black & grey socks for G
A scarf for R
I made a matching hat for R, but it came out SO Small! I have very tight knitting. Things are often way smaller when I've made them. I do know how to remedy this: knit a tension square & use appropriately sized needles! But that barely ever happens.
I am particularly happy with my Christmas socks for ME, I have called them "Christmas berries". Does it sound pompous to "name" a pair of socks? Quite possibly.

Yesterday was the Last Day Of School, and in the evening we went to church for a kind of family party. It was just us - just church, we had snacks & games for the kids. It was very casual, I really enjoyed just having a cuppa with friends. Yes we are often together, working, working. I get a lot of joy and satisfaction from working at church as you may have noticed, but it makes a lovely change to be there, jobless!
The lights were low and there were various fairy lights. The music/kids were not too loud, so we could catch up with each other.  Lots of little 'uns there to keep us amused/busy!

Then we came home. DH was on the PS3, and the girls were on the laptops. Boys up in their room on the PS2. I was sat in bed knitting. I am knitting a bear, from Jean Greenhowe's Traditional Toys pattern. But I have decided to make it in 4ply on 1.5mm steel pins. CRAZY! this means each stitch is like stabbing myself in the fingers with a blunt needle.
As everyone was occupied so happily & thoroughly, we just carried on til about 1am!  I completed the bear's head & stuffed it. Now I am continuing with the body. My shoulder is burning! The ridiculously tight & smallness of it is making me cross-eyed also.
I must take a break.
