mmm, Peppermint Bark!

Friday evening a friend from church came round for tea, i made slow-cooker chili from http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/2240/slow-cooker-chilli-con-carne.aspx .And peppermint bark! pictured below, and this is not my photo!
Well, it's delicious!
We had an interesting time discussing our feelings & how they sometimes hinder our development!

This morning DH & I made our "pilgrimage" to Dobbies for breakfast, it's so cold but there was a lovely low sun shining brightly into my face throughout.
Then we went for a chat with the hens they keep at the back of Dobbies.
Exciting to think we will have our own before long. We won't be getting them from Dobbies though! From Happy Chicks.
I remember when i bought a little Schleich rooster & hens for my kitchen windowsill a few years ago.

Little did we know we would be getting our very own some day.

Today Ruby & I sorted through all her clothes.... she had so many that it was all in an awful pile & totally out of control. We sorted out a LOT to give away, and now there's plenty of storage for what she has left. And, BONUS! It turned out she does really have enough clothes for the moment, they were just hidden in the mess.

I am still knitting like mad. I made a pair of dark turquoise bootees today, just to test a pattern from a magazine. It's cheap yarn though, pure acrylic! So I don't really like them. Oh yeah, i couldn't sleep from about 3am so I started on this simple hat from Ravelry,
It has a tubular cast on, which I haven't done before. I did it wrong, but i think i can see how to do it right next time.

Looking forward to church tomorrow, especially as our soon-to-be new co-pastor & his family will be with us again! And with doughnuts, apparently! Yay!
