Okay. Number 1, i think i have to add Jen Hatmaker's blog to my list cos she is adorable. Serious about obeying our King, but has an amazing sense of humour. see for yourself at jenhatmaker.com.
Number 2, I am trying to avoid people! (a bit) while i work us out a little schedule cos my family/church/homeschool life is demanding about 26 hours a day right now.
I had such a nice little school day & some errands planned in for today, with a lovely little phone-prayer session planned with a fellow wife-of-a-non-christian this morn.
Well none o that happened, but we did get the free bus to Asda and have a mcdonalds. You hear?
We need a little down time. Oh, yeah sure we just had six weeks of downtime! But in the first week of September everything started thick and fast, with not a second to breathe in between!
In fact, i just walked past my kitchen counter & there's this bottle of red wine there* and it started to allure me..."mm imagine how nice i'd taste....and you could doze off for the afternoon..." it said. So I popped it away & made some life-giving marmite on toast.
And...while i took on plenty of new responsibilities in education, in church & Bsf this past year, there is something i seem to shirk forever...
I don't talk about my marriage on here cos DH is such a private guy and he would not appreciate it. But let's just say i am NOT a very good wife, and I need a lot of work & prayer & time with my maker. And all these worthy causes just keep me busy, keep me coasting along, feeling useful & good & stuff, and I never get round to what may be my most important role in life, that wife in 1 Peter 3:1, that girl who wins her husband over to the Lord without words. Prayer & actions baby!
*we needed a cork for a science experiment. that is my actual excuse!
Whoever is reading this out there, I love ya!
