Kids doing housework shocker!

Stayed up too late with the girls watching "The Ugly Truth", a "Romantic comedy" that was rather inappropriate really. But as ever, it supplied some talking points.
Woke up this morning & I wanted to make some muffins or drop scones to awaken the brood.
I didn't have any of the right ingredients, so made these ultra-thick, wholemeal drop-scones from strong wholemeal bread flour. The mixture looked just like someone had prepared a bowl of 20 weetabix & left it around for hours, Urgh!
Surprisingly they were eaten! they were neutral so we put choc spread, honey or lemon curd on them this morn.
Follow that with a day working in the Cafe - there was a Welcum Club trip out so most of the cafe team set up and prepared the food, then went on the trip. So it was me & two others, people who don't usually work in the cafe, and they did a great job!
It was even quite busy today, but it all got done.
As Ever I am just ready for bed after working there, but also knew Some Housework Must Get Done! So I gave each child a step-by-step, detailed list of jobs. rather simple, each in a different area.
As they began I made up the last of those scone thingies & we all enjoyed them anew with lemon juice & sugar. Enjoyed them while agreeing we don't really want to use this exact recipe again!
So that enthused them a little. I am just waiting for Lola to start - she got cleaning the bathroom & isn't keen to begin!
These are the bootees I made for little Reuben. I was very happy with them, but I couldn't find the ball band, so I don't know what they are made of! So I had to put "Hand wash" on the label. They are some  kind of cotton-silk-bamboo mix I think. Feel lovely.
