This afternoon DH (dear husband) and I went to the hospital to visit his dad, who was hospitalised after a routine operation went wrong last week. He is recovering, but he has been in a lot of pain.
Already I can see God's perfect timing in mum's illness coming at the same time as my father-in-law's, and only a few weeks since DH's stepdad was in a hospice with a brain aneurysm. Also a slightly-related friend's mum died last week.
Hope.
It is noticeable that mum has hope. It is wholly noticeable! It is completely different suffering With Christ. Yes there is suffering. He doesn't take it away. But He is with us.
My theme tune at the moment is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkMapZB8qMk
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.
Refrain:
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.
