Saturday, K & J's wedding went lovely, it was a super service with loads more gospel in it than you might expect! And it was the best wedding song selection ever - In Christ Alone, Promised land, when I was lost you came & rescued me...
K looked amazing as you can imagine, the colours of her bouquet of roses were really bright & pretty.
In the afternoon I had to have a sleep & start to prepare the children's story for Sunday. It was Mark 9v14-29 Jesus heals a boy possessed by a demon - not an easy one to tell ! In the end I settled for reading it straight out of the bible - just paraphrasing a little so all could understand, and drew a cartoon of the boy looking dead/ill.
That went well in the end, and then I took Junior Church ages 5-7. There were only 5 kids so that was cool! And actually it went well- the activities lasted nearly up to the end this time!
I had my Fred in with me - even tho he's almost 9, we have agreed he can go in the younger group when necessary cos of the way he acts...He talked incessantly all the way through. Maddening!
Sunday 7pm we have our hour of prayer at A&W's house. As nearly 50% of us had missed the sermon due to being in Junior Church, PW recapped for us & we based our prayers for the church on points from the sermon. This prayer meeting is a high point of the week for me, there is an obvious presence of the holy spirit of God, He is clearly drawing us close. Wonderful!
It was the second of four weeks teaching on leadership "How to lead, who to follow" as we are currently praying about having another full-time pastor / elder. Much-needed may I say! as we are a small church who do a huge job!
