We went to Garston Adventure Playground (GAP) again yesterday to meet up with other home educators & there were loads there! It was a lovely morning, the people are so diverse in age, religion, outlook, choices. It's really interesting, and everyone is determined to be supportive & inclusive too!
I spoke with a lovely mum & gran of a little lad with Asd & Adhd, the mum works & the gran homeschools him. We had plenty in common & raised a laugh & even a tear over our 8-year olds.
There were so many people there, I didn't get time to meet them all. We came away very happy.
Then we got a taxi home, the driver swore at my Freddo for spilling some (dry) biscuits in his precious vehicle, and I lost my new blackberry phone.
We were all in a terrible mood once we got in so we had a little prayer time & tried to apply what we have been learning from 1 Peter 1v8: (we have to suffer trials) so that our faith ...may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory & honour when Jesus Christ is revealed.
I was so tired, Robin had a temperature & everyone was fighting. I made the tea & was in a rush for BSF, i wasn't a bit prepared.
Later, in the lecture at BSF i heard this: like a goldsmith refining gold in a fire, it needs to go in the fire to be refined, but he would not just leave it there, it would be ruined.
So God puts our faith in the flames to refine us, but he removes it from the fire when that particular job is done. He would never leave us there to burn away to nothing!
The worse you feel before Bible Study, the more you are blessed by the end! That is such a true rule!
