Went to Garston today to meet other Liverpool Home Edders at Garston venny.
It is a lovely place, the playground is spacious with wooden furniture and LOADS of lovely foliage! Can't find a photo but here's a film of it. http://www.playengland.org.uk/resources/adventure-playgrounds-in-the-community-garston.aspx now imagine that but mostly empty, it's a wonderful place to play. There were a nice smattering of parents & kids from about six to thirteen. The children got straight in there playing and i chatted to various parents. I found it most encouraging, there were people from all areas & different walks of life, Children who were no longer in school for a variety of reasons. People who have a strict curriculum / routine, and those who don't. We had some chats/debates(!) and I am very much looking forward to meeting them again in two weeks.
To my slight surprise my kids mixed very well and Fred was even swapping postcodes (!) with a little boy, (one of triplets) who he had taken a shine to.
Cool!
