Bit of an exhausting day yesterday, Fred & I did the diagonal box method of multiplication, which I had to look up on youtube, learn, then explain to him. (Cos Teaching textbooks use an older, less practical method). That was quite some work for me, then of course, some of the rest of his maths unit was revising the division we had done a few days before... arghhhhhh!
Got to Housegroup, we were going to look at the opening & closing paragraphs of 1 Peter.
But, the word "elect" in the opening verses lead to an evening of questions about predestination! HEADACHE! I don't share people's concern on this subject. I know many people really want to understand it, but I don't think we're meant to!
Thankfully, Ste answered all questions as best he could, with the bible open to show where he was getting his answers. I'm glad he did, people's questions are valid, but it's not for me. I could see one or two others had switched off!
After everyone had gone, I've take to hanging around for an hour as it's the only time Jane & I get a little catch-up time. Ste was frazzled by the Q's and he and Joe (trainee, living with the Caseys) had a beer. Oh yes Ste & Jane had done an exam that day too!
They asked me to stay for a chat but I was so tired by all that had gone on! I sloped off home, assuming it was about 11:30pm. Got in- all the kids were up ad it was only ten pm!
I'm old.
Today I was cooking dinner for Anthony & Elaine.
I did two of: fish pie with potato crust, cabbage, carrot & bean side dish, and chocolate brownies which are in the oven as i type. It has take me over 3 hours and there is heaps of dishwasher filling to do!
