Long Easter weekend in Bristol

Been to Bristol for a long Easter weekend, visiting my brother & his family.
We had a wonderful time. The kids are growing so big & are so sweet (of course our youngest sons were a bit excitable) but we enjoyed each other's company.
I went to church with my brother on the Good Friday night & we all went on Easter Sunday. It was lovely to see various characters from my childhood, of course we are all middle aged now. Of course being my childhood, I never liked these people at the time, but now we would get on well. Sigh!
I was quite surprised at how different the church service is, from what I'm used to. There is always a lot to process, And I'm afraid I bent C's ear afterwards, but she was probably expecting it.
She was making some lovely felt flower brooches. We also tried needle-felting, not sure how successfully!
DH & I stayed in a travelodge with 2 kids while 2 others stayed in my bro's.  I struggled with sleep inevitably.
One day I visited my best-friend-from-school, who has acquired a husband and two adorable little boys since we last met (7 years ago). Lola came with me, we were only popping in as she's amidst moving house, but we ended up staying for lunch & having a lovely chat about motherhood & school mainly (she's been a science teacher)
We had a lovely walk in Vassels Park and one evening i took Ruby & Fred walking from A&C's to our old house in St Helen's Walk. Ruby noted that the area is very similar to Speke.
The travelodge I chose was far too far away from their house, I think 5 miles distance would be the max next time.
Came home yesterday early afternoon. My lovely Linda had been caring for the hens and Boy have they grown! And Linda had cleaned all the kitchen & dining room. What a blessing!
I went straight to bed and slept til teatime. I am a woman who needs midday naps!
The weather in Bristol was so warm and sunny.  We went to St Nicholas Market to spend our Bristol Pounds, we ate our pack lunch in St Stephen's church cafe. We visited a chocolate festival and a lovely artisan market, where Jojo had to have some handspun silk. Typical 10 year old boy?
Its much warmer here too today. Thankfully.
How they've grown!
