Free Range and a fence panel.

The chickens were free range today. Lola & I screwed 2 mesh panels together to make a temporary barrier where the main fence panel missing.
I noticed a pallet a few doors down, so asked the builders if I could have it. They gave me two and insisted on carrying them for me. I was touched, until I looked in a mirror and realised they probably thought I was too old to carry them myself! (No woman my age doesn't dye their grey away do they!)
Lola & I decided to make a replacement fence panel for the front yard, one panel is totally rotting away.
We tried prising the pallet apart but found it too difficult. So we ended up using a long piece of trim from our wardrobe, and lots of bunkbed slats. We are about halfway done screwing all the slats on.  It was hard work, and really fun.
All day the chickens got into lots of silly business. It was warm & sunny so a lovely busy end to Lola's school holidays. Jojo spend quite a few days playing out with his classmate Luke from the next street.
I have a plan for Freddy to build himself a little house out of pallets, I am going to get hold of a bunch of 'em soon.
