GCSE maths

Please tell me this is what homeschooling is meant to be like! We were sitting in PJs snuggled in my bed with our backs to the radiator, browsing through last year' edexcel GCSE maths paper, discussing which questions we could answer easily, (bear in mind Fred is only 8!) and which we need to learn more about.  I have two GCSE math syllabuses, both edexcel. one is about 10 years old and one modern. picked them up for less than a quid in a second-hand shop in Old Swan last term.  It is sooo funny, All my kids are good at maths. It is a language I do not speak! It's a breeze to them, that's why I picked it as the first "curricular" subject we will study in an organised way.  We are simply gonna go thru the book, learning it systematically with the help of youtube explaining any concepts I cannot.
Oh yeah, and main point: praying for help in learning and understanding the subject, & patience with our fellow "students" !

Then we did our bible study, which today was James ch 1. We had lively (read hysterical if you like) discussions of what lies in that chapter, the boys loved the visual of a man looking at himself in a mirror, then turning away and immediately forgetting what his own face looks like! Hope the message sank in too.

I told Jojo I am not sure if he will be home schooled this September, I am praying if he is staying at home or returning to school for year 6.  I don't mind - it is what the Lord shows us. But I need Jojo to pray each day too, that he will accept the decision, whichever way it goes. He cried for a while at the thought of going back (you should have seen the tears on his last day of school!)
He is a very sensitive little chap, that's one of his lovely points.  But also I am beginning to see he is what I've heard described as a people-pleaser. I need to find out what that is & pray accordingly.
What a sweet guy he is.
