I went and worked at my son's school again today, I do a full day In Fred's class on a Tuesday. He cries bitterly about having to go to school, mainly because of loneliness in break & lunchtime, so I volunteer in his class - the better to observe his experience. (I also really enjoy hearing the kids read one-on-one)
I was quite encouraged by his behaviour / experience during class time, he hardly gets into trouble, and I can see his teacher is making an effort to relate to him in a manner which eliminates unnecessary aggro.
But during breaks he flits from one group to another, lasting less than 5 minutes, unable to bend to their game parameters. Then wandering away to feel sorry for himself...
So after two Tuesdays' worth of observation I am feeling: He needs some training in practising God's presence during the lonely times.
Yeah. God is totally with him & for him. He needs to practise being fully aware.
