There's a 7-yr old boy in Fred's school with Aspergers, ADHD, sensory issues & Dispraxia. They had a few bust-ups at first but I soon realised this kid Henry also had some kind of ASD (They don't wear labels!!) and hoped it would blow over.
I don't know him or his mum but I facebooked her the other day, inviting them over.
Well they came over today & It went soooo well! Fred & Henry played / made crafts together . The mum & I swapped anecdotes / identified with each other for a couple of hours which was so nice! She said she knew Fred had aspergers, probably before I ever did, as she has got a lot more experience with it through friends.
Henry was noticeably more self-aware than my Fred. Really seemed to have a handle on his issues.
It was very encouraging.
Also today I went on a yahoo group about home educating and looked for anyone in my city. Well on came a home educator living within a mile of me! So I hope we can meet up soon.
YAY! Praise the Lord for such treats!
